PAG Law Partners With Endeavor Miami On Acceleration Program For Black Entrepreneurs

1 FEBRUARY 2021

PAG LAW REPRESENTED NUVEMSHOP, THE LEADING E-COMMERCE PLATFORM IN LATIN AMERICA, IN A $500 MILLION SERIES E FUNDING ROUND LED BY INSIGHT PARTNERS AND TIGER GLOBAL MANAGEMENT. ALKEON, OWL ROCK, ACCEL, KASZEK, QUALCOMM VENTURES AND THORNTREE CAPITAL ALSO PARTICIPATED IN THE ROUND.

"We are delighted to be partnering with a world-class organization like Endeavor that has a track record of helping entrepreneurs scale successfully all over the world," said Peter Eccles, Managing Partner of PAG's New York office. He added that "there is a notable lack of diversity in tech and venture capital, with less than one percent of venture capital funding in the U.S. going to Black founders" and that "Endeavor is taking the lead on addressing this issue in Miami, which could be a model for other cities."

The program will support 10 local Black-led early-stage companies with a market-tested business model, to accelerate their growth through access to seasoned mentors, workshops and exclusive content. The program is also supported by community partners, the Simkins Family Foundation, Lightship Capital and the Center for Black Innovation.

Juan Pablo Cappello, founding partner of PAG, said, "At PAG Law, we believe in being agents for change. We have a history of supporting diverse entrepreneurs, with hundreds of LatinX founders as clients, as well as women founders who have successfully scaled their businesses, and we believe that we can make an even greater impact around addressing the lack diversity in tech and venture by partnering with Endeavor on this important initiative."
