Two Leading Litigators Join PAG Law. "PAG Law Named "Best Boutique Law Firm of the Year – USA"

1 JUNE 2021

Two Leading Litigators Strengthen PAG's Litigation Practice. At PAG Law our goal is not to grow but to constantly improve. With excellence in mind, PAG Law is pleased to announce: Brett Barfield and Dan Mazanec have joined the firm as litigation partners based in the firm's Miami office.

Brett spent two decades honing the craft of litigation at an AmLaw 100 law firm. He represents domestic and international business clients in a wide variety of disputes, employing the most effective and efficient means tailored to each case. From informal negotiations, mediation and arbitration, to litigation and trials, Brett creates multi-party strategies to resolve complex cases for clients in industries such as technology, health care, real estate, manufacturing and distribution, and in various service industries and professions.

Very active with the Federal Bar Association, Brett has held both local and national officer roles. He has been recognized numerous years by Florida Super Lawyers and Florida Trend magazines as a leading business litigation attorney in Florida, and is a past recipient of the Florida Bar President's Pro Bono Service Award for his extensive work reuniting parents with their children who were abducted into the U.S. from abroad. Following law school, Brett served as a law clerk to the Honorable Edward B. Davis, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Dan is known for developing creative, practical and efficient strategies that achieve his clients' unique business and litigation objectives – whether in the courtroom or the conference room. Drawing on more than 15 years of successfully litigating disputes involving tens or hundreds of millions of dollars at stake, Dan advises and represents businesses, entrepreneurs, investors and artists in commercial disputes and intellectual property litigation, including copyright and trademark infringement actions. He also serves as outside general counsel and strategic advisor to multiple startups and growth-stage private companies, and as a negotiator for clients in various industries confronting high-stakes problems, conflicts and opportunities. As Dan is admitted to practice in New York and previously worked in an AmLaw 100 law firm in NYC, he will also support PAG Law's growing NYC office.

Patricia Acosta, head of PAG Law's litigation practice, noted "Brett and Dan, like the rest of PAG's lawyers, left "Big Law" to do fewer things better, focus on a small group of select clients, and operate more efficiently. We are thrilled to be able to work with lawyers as capable and practical as Brett and Dan." PAG Law Named "Boutique Law Firm of the Year - USA"
