Ramon’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, joint ventures and other corporate and commercial arrangements. He regularly represents clients in both cross-border and domestic transactions and advises emerging growth companies throughout their lifecycles in international corporate matters, acquisitions and venture funding.

Ramon has extensive experience counseling Brazilian companies seeking to expand into the U.S., as well as U.S. companies and investors looking to do business in Brazil. In addition, Ramon has advised world-class brands in the structuring of their e-commerce, retail, distribution, and general day-to-day operations in Brazil and is broadly experienced in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.

Prior to joining the firm, Ramon worked as an associate at Akerman LLP in Miami. Ramon began his practice in Brazil, where he worked at Demarest Advogados and Trench Rossi Watanabe (in cooperation with Baker McKenzie) in São Paulo.

Patricia Acosta leads PAG’s litigation and dispute resolution practice. She is widely recognized as a fearless, unrelenting advocate for founders and companies in high-stakes disputes. From contentious business divorces and fractured partnerships to bet-the-company lawsuits, she brings sharp, creative strategy and unwavering resolve to every matter.

Patricia is a sought-after libel lawyer when reputations are under siege. She represents companies and individuals facing defamation claims and other existential reputational threats, including in actions against influential publishers.

Patricia is known for crafting bold litigation strategies that disrupt expectations and give her clients a decisive edge.Patricia litigates disputes from inception through trial in state and federal courts nationwide, as well as before international arbitration tribunals in both English and Spanish.

Patricia has been highly regarded for her skill and results, including being named among the 2026 Best Lawyers in America, ranked as a Legal Elite, Super Lawyer, and a Miami Elite in commercial and international disputes.

Patricia frequently lectures on cutting-edge issues, most recently as an adjunct professor of cyber, technology, First Amendment, and privacy law at NSU Shepard Broad College of Law. She chaired the Florida Bar’s Media and Communications Law Committee for two consecutive terms, and served on the board of the Florida Bar Foundation. Patricia served as a judicial law clerk for a federal district court judge, spent a decade honing the craft of litigation at an Am Law 100 law firm, and managed her own law firm before co-founding PAG.

He represents domestic and international businesses and individuals in a wide variety of disputes. He partners with his clients to formulate the most effective and efficient strategy for their individual case, including consideration of informal negotiations, mediation, arbitration, litigation, and trial, often involving multiple U.S. and foreign forums. Brett’s clients operate in industries such as technology, banking and financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and distribution, and numerous service industries and professions.

Brett has also represented more than 100 clients seeking the return of their children abducted into the U.S. from abroad, using the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.Very active with the Federal Bar Association, Brett has held both local and national officer roles. He has been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers of America, and as a leading business litigation attorney in Florida by Florida Super Lawyers and Florida Trend magazines. Brett is a past recipient of the Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award.

Brett frequently lectures, including recently as a professor teaching federal court civil procedure and legal writing at the St. Thomas University College of Law.

Ricardo has more than 30 years of experience providing legal advice to international clients in cross border transactions in the areas of mergers & acquisitions (M&A), corporate finance and capital markets. He also has experience representing debtor companies in cross border debt restructurings and litigation experience in arbitration cases before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Prior to joining PAG Law, he worked for 26 years at Marval O’Farrell & Mairal, where he was a partner for nearly 23 years. Prior to joining Marval, Ricardo worked as a foreign associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York City.

A Chilean native, Juan Pablo has practiced law on Wall Street and in Chile, with expertise in international financings, securities offerings, and joint ventures. He worked at Cleary Gottlieb (New York) and Philippi Yrarrazaval (Santiago).

Peter is a leading international lawyer with over 30 years of experience, including as a partner at three top global law firms and Latin America regional general counsel for a major financial institution. Ranked among Latinvex’s Top 100 Lawyers for Latin America in 2023, he is a Founding Partner of PAG Law and Managing Partner of its New York office.

Peter specializes in cross-border M&A, venture capital, private equity, debt and equity financings, securitizations, and capital markets transactions, particularly between the U.S. and Latin America, with a focus on Brazil. He has advised investors, public and private companies, and startups on major transactions, including pioneering IPOs and landmark financings. His work includes advising on a $500M growth equity financing for a Brazilian e-commerce firm (Latin America's second-largest VC deal in 2021) and a $2B SPAC business combination for a U.S.-based EV company set to list on NASDAQ in 2024.

Esteban is an international corporate attorney with unique experience advising Latin American start-ups and established entities on every aspect of their lifecycles and corporate needs.

A Chilean who has spent his legal career between his native Chile and the United States, Esteban’s practice focuses on international corporate and securities law, including equity and debt offerings, mergers and acquisitions, lending, joint ventures, licensing, and foreign investments.

After commencing his legal career in Washington, DC with DLA Piper, Esteban returned to Chile to found Awad & Elias Abogados, where he counseled Latin American venture-backed startups through crucial stages in their lifecycles, including negotiating and closing venture capital financing rounds, and guiding them in their expansion into the U.S. market. Esteban is comfortable on both sides of the aisle, having advised several prominent Chilean venture capital funds in connection with their investments in portfolio companies as part of their expansion to the international stage.
